There will be outdoor demonstrations and workshops on all aspects of practical scythe use, celebrations with music, dance and intercultural exchange.
Of related interest and scheduled within our agenda, the Umweltschutzverband (an Austrian environmental organization) is planning a special Symposium on Wildflower Meadow Management which will include excursions to the surrounding mountainsides.
We invite participation of :
- ethnologists and accomplished mowers from many countries (to demonstrate their regional use of the scythe)
- researchers in intermediate technology/human-powered tools
- representatives of agricultural cooperatives from the so-called "under-developed" parts of the world
- environmental departments of Kyoto Protocol-committed countries
- aware farmers and gardeners, holistic health practitioners, deep ecologists, environmental activists and others who speak on behalf of a sane and peace-oriented world.
